How it works

Three steps. No willpower required.

/ 01

Start the timer

Pick a block — a 25-minute pomodoro or a 50-minute sprint — and the room goes quiet.

/ 02

Hold the focus

A breathing cue settles you in. Pings are blocked, and your sound bed keeps the room honest.

/ 03

Keep the chain

Every finished session lights your streak and logs to a live ledger. Show up, repeat.

02

Everything but the noise

Hold attention, with less effort.

Timers that fit

Pomodoros, sprints, and deep-work blocks — tuned to the work, not the app.

Quiet soundscapes

Fourteen real recordings — rain, keys, fans — not a synth in sight.

Pings off by default

Deep-work mode blocks notifications and mutes everything but the timer.

A live ledger

Minutes, sessions, and a focus score, updated from our backend.

Streaks that hold

One session a day keeps the flame lit. Missed days just pause, never judge.

Focus together

Small rooms with a shared timer. Company, without the chatter.

04

Breathe in, out

The timer breathes with you.

Every session starts and ends with a breathing cue — four seconds in, four seconds out — so you don't slam from full-speed to a hard stop. It's the pause between the work.

From the desk of Samir Kade

Attention is the product. Everything else is a timer.

I built the first version of hush on a train, with a notebook and a phone that kept lighting up. I'd get an idea, reach for the phone to write it down, and lose the idea to a notification. Every single time.

So I made a timer that doesn't just count minutes — it makes the room quiet. No pings, no tabs, no shame. Just a block of time and one thing to do inside it.

The promise is small: sit down, press start, and for twenty-five minutes the world can wait. That's the whole product.

"I've tried every timer app. Hush is the first one that makes me want to sit down, not just time myself."

"I do one sprint every morning with a friend in a focus room. Same block, zero chatter, both of us done by noon."

The roadmap

Where we're going.

Q3 2026

Focus timer + 14 soundscapes + live stats, in beta.

Q4 2026

Focus rooms and a public session log.

Q1 2027

Calendar sync — schedule your deep work, not just time it.

Q2 2027

hush hardware: a desktop dial that starts the timer and kills the pings.

Questions, answered.

How is hush different from a plain timer?+
A plain timer counts down. Hush makes the room quiet — pings off, a sound bed on, and a breathing cue to settle you into the block.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. Timers and saved soundscapes run with no connection. The live stats ledger needs a signal.
Is it just for focus?+
No. Focus, reading, writing, and studying. The same timer, different modes.
Is it free?+
Yes — the core timer, soundscapes, and stats are free during beta and stay free after launch.
Do you track me?+
We track your focus, not you. Minutes and sessions, on your device, with no always-on monitoring.
Can I focus with friends?+
Yes — join a focus room, share a timer, and hold each other to the block without a single ping.

Sit down. Get quiet.
